Radiotherapy starts
Apart from slight claustrophobia the Radiotherapy went without problem and was then followed by outpatient oncology enabling me to clarify any points. .Side effects are likely to be progressive & dependent on the number of sessions so as this is my first I am relatively free of difficulties. Steroids do have there pluses( reduce Raised intracranial pressure and headaches and negatives ( o edema , moon-face,sleep problems etc) and will be reduced as able.
Other positives: I managed to cycle into town for the first time which gives me great independence and therefore less demands on Anne. We are hoping to take a short break (from tumor related mattes(outpatients, blogging phones etc) as a family( Anne & all the boys) . Time to clear the cobwebs, regroup and recharge.
NHS gets a battering this week with : the publication of the 'Francis' report into the terrible events at Mid Stafford shire are published this week & the press are having a field day, various pressure groups are looking for those responsible to be called to account and to accordingly pay the price for any misdemeanours and neglect in their responsibilities. I am not in favor of a witch hunt ,nevertheless hundreds of lives were needlessly lost and that is a scandal which we would not tolerate .Today I was in recent of magnificent care as will millions of patients as we speak.Do consider the moral of all those hard pressed staff the majority of whom will be doing their very best sometimes in intolerable positions to provide excellent care.Do keep posting your positive NHS News Items

  1. Hi Neil, great to catch up with you all even for a brief time. I made it back to the US shortly before they cancelled all the flights due to snow. Will be following your progress from afar but will have you close in heart and thoughts.

    1. Hello Conrad

thank you .Good to hear from you.We are doing OK in the circumstances (due to the support of family, friends ,well wishes which replenish the batteries which become depleted) and take each step (currently Radiotherapy) ,each moment at a time. How is CAT progressing ?
